Hello Owls and Badgers, today we are writing the middle part of our stories, this is usually the problem.

Please work through the presentation which will explain the task in detail.

Remember to use all your amazing writing skills you have learnt in Year 2 and focus on your handwriting too.

We can't wait to read your work.

Wednesday 3rd March 2021

Hello Owls and Badgers, today we will begin writing our own animal stories.

Please look through the presentation which will explain the task fully. We are only writing the beginning of the story today so please do not go ahead as we are doing this in stages.

Please use all your writing skills that we have learnt in year 2 and make a very big focus on handwriting as this has slipped in some of your work during lockdown.

Tuesday 2nd March 2021

Good morning Owls and Badgers, today we will begin planning our animal stories.

Please look through the presentation which will explain the task fully.

We are very excited to read your animal story plans, remember only key words and phrases and not full sentences today.

World Book week

Monday 1st March 2021

Good morning Owls and Badgers, we hope you are all well. Only one more week till we are all together again at school.

Today we will be creating our character for our own story. Please think about what they look like and what will happen to the character in your story and where it is set, the setting.

Please work through the presentation which will explain today's task. You will be drawing your main character in the setting and labelling it with key words and phrases.

We hope you have fun creating these.

Good Morning Badgers and Owls

We are starting a new story called The Diary of a Kill er Cat by Anne Fine.

Remember to work on all the skills that we have learnt so far this year.

1. We should all be using capital letters and full stops in every sentences.

2. We use different conjunctions to extend our sentences to include more detail.

3. We use noun phases and adverbs to add description in our work.

4. We are beginning to make our writing flow by using different sentence starters.

5. We write neatly on the line and use joined up handwriting.

Good morning Badgers and Owls

This week we started reading the story The Diary of a Killer Cat. We have been discussing adjectives that describe Tuffy and how others might feel about him. Today we will use all of our ideas this week and use them to write a character description. You can write this in three paragraphs: describe his appearance, his personality and finally finish off with what you think about him. Remember to use conjunctions and adjectives to add detail in your work.

In the documents below there is a help page and a work page. You do not need to print this out. Write the date at the top of your page and the title Tuffy. Then complete your work. You can even draw a picture of Tuffy when you have Finished.

We look forward to seeing your work.

Thursday 25th February 2021

Good morning Badgers and Owls

Over the past two days we have learnt a bit more about Tuffy. Yesterday we discussed adjectives that we thought described Tuffy and those that didn't. In our zoom lesson today we focus on what the characters in the story think of Tuffy and what Tuffy thinks about himself.

In the documents below there is a help page and a work page. You do not need to print this out. Write the date at the top of your page and the title Tuffy. Then draw the outline of a cat or just a cat face in this is easier but make sure you draw it quite big as you will be writing inside it. Now write in side Tuffy how he feels about himself then on the outside write what his family feel about him.

We look forward to hearing your ideas.

Wednesday 24th February 2021

Good morning Badgers and Owls.

We hope you are enjoying the story Diary of a killer Cat.

In our zoom lesson today we will read chapter 2. Our focus today is adjectives, remember adjectives are describing words. We will identify words that describe Tuffy and those that don't.

In the documents below there is a help page and a work page. Remember you do not need to print this out just write the date at the top of your page then draw a big circle or a square if you find this easier. Draw a small picture of Tuffy in your shape. Now you can write the words that describe Tuffy inside your shape and the words that don't on the outside.

We look forward to hearing some of your own adjectives.

Tuesday 23rd February 2021

Today we will be writing a description of what has happened in chapter one. Remember to write the date at the top of the page and the title Monday. Remember to use conjunctions and noun phrases in your writing to extend your sentences and add description.

We look forward to reading your descriptions.
