Good morning Owls and Badgers. 

 

We hope you enjoyed our spell writing poem lesson yesterday, we have seen and heard some fantastic pieces of writing.

 

Today we are completing a planning sheet where you will be used to write instructions on how to make your own spell to put a curse on Rapunzel. 

 

Please work through the presentation which will guide you through today's lesson by using imperative/ bossy verbs, the amount of your ingredient and what you are using.

 

For example: stir one hundred wiggly worms.

 

We hope you have fun planning you spells.

Good morning Owls and Badgers. Today we will be continuing to think about our Rapunzel story. The wicked witch has threatened to put a curse on Rapunzel, we would like you to write your own spell poem.

 

Please work through the presentation for instructions and ideas. This should be a really fun lesson, we hope you enjoy writing your spell poems which you may decorate when you have finished.

This week we will be continuing with our book, Rapunzel. Today we will be writing a diary entry for Rapunzel. We have done these many times so please remember the features of a diary.

Happy Friday Owls and Badgers. We hope you have enjoyed our first week of Rapunzel.

 

Today we would like you to write a character description of Rapunzel. Please use your stencil sheet from earlier in the week to describe Rapunzel's appearance and personality. You should also use your speech bubbles which will also help you to describe how our character may be thinking and feeling. 

 

Please look through the presentation and follow the guide to what we would like you to do. Please think about your handwriting doing your absolute best and use all our writing skills we have learnt in Year 2. 

 

Have fun describing Rapunzel.

 

 

Thursday 21st January 2021

 

Hello, today we will be looking at Rapunzel in our book.

 

Please look through the presentation which will explain what your task is. We will be writing some thought/ speech bubbles to explain how we think Rapunzel may be feeling.

 

Please think about your writing skills and use lots of describing words in your speech bubbles. We would like you to use different sentence starters too as this will make your writing more interesting.

 

When you have finished your writing you may like to draw a picture of Rapunzel too.

Good morning, today we will be continuing with the Rapunzel story. 

Using the witch stencil you completed yesterday with words describing her appearance and personality we would like you to write a character description. 

Read through the presentation which will give a full explanation of what is expected from you today.

Please think about all the writing skills we have learnt in Year 2 and also focus on your handwriting. 

We have also discussed writing in paragraphs so you could write a paragraph about what she looks like and then start a new one about her personality.

 

Have fun we can't wait to read them.

Hello, today we will begin the read our new book Rapunzel so really good listening and reading please.

 

We will be thinking about the Witch today, what does she look like? Then we would like you to think about her personality, you will learn lots about her today to help you.

 

Your task today is similar to yesterday where you will be filing in a stencil of the witch, thinking of words to describe what she looks like and then what you think she is like inside. Is she a nice witch?

 

You are building up a great bank of words and ideas to help you with your work for the rest of the week.

 

 

Monday 18th January 2021

 

Good morning, today we will be continuing with our new book.  

 

Please work through the presentation and complete the task of completing the stencil with words describing the new characters appearance, what she looks like . Then you will be writing word within the picture with words about how she may be feeling inside.

 

If you don't have a printer this is no problem, just draw a picture to fill in with words as explained in the presentation.

Friday 15th January 2021

 

Good morning, today we will be continuing with our retell of the traditional tale of Rapunzel. You will need to use your planning sheet from Wednesdays session and please read through the story again to remind you and give you more ideas for you writing.

 

Please remember to work on your handwriting and writing skills, we are very excited to see and hear your stories which we will try to share in the Zoom calls.

Hello Owls and Badgers. 

 

Today we will continue the work we started yesterday. We will begin to retell the Rapunzel story today. You will need to use your planning sheet from yesterday to help you with your writing.

Please read through the story again which we will be doing in the Zoom call. Then we would like you to write the title in your books.

 

L.O: I can retell the traditional story of Rapunzel.

We will not write the whole story today. I want you to take your time and include lots of detail in your writing.

We only want you to write about the first 4 boxes on your planning sheet . Please use all of the writing skills that you have been learning.

 

  • Capital letters and full stops
  • Noun phrases (this is an adjective and a noun. Eg tall tower or long hair)
  • Adjectives to make your writing more interesting
  • Conjunctions to make your sentences longer, words like because, and, or and but
  • Work on your presentation your letters should be joined and sitting on the line.

 

Remember only to work on the first 4 boxes of your planning sheet today.

Wednesday 13th January 2021

 

Good morning Owls and Badgers, today we will be continuing working on our fairy tale topic and looking at a traditional version of the Rapunzel story.

 

Please take a look through the presentation which is a copy of the story that we will go through in the Zoom session. Once you have read through the story we would like you to look at the planning sheet which we have attached, if you are able to print this off please do this or draw the pictures into your book. This will be a planning sheet for you to add key words and describing words to prepare for you to rewrite your own version of the story tomorrow.  

 

We have also attached a word mat which has some key words that will help you with your planning sheet.

 

Please enjoy drawing the pictures and planning your story.

Fairy Tales

 

Good morning Owls and Badgers. Today we are starting a new topic, Fairy tales. We are sure that you have heard lots of these stories at school and at home.

Please take a look through the presentation about fairy tales which will talk about the different features of these stories. After you have read through we would like you to write this title in your books with today's date.

 

 L.O: I can explore and compare fairy tales.

 

We would then like you to write about the different features of fairy tales and what makes them different from other stories. You can write about how a fairy tale starts and ends. You can also write about the different settings that you have read and heard in fairy tale stories. Think about adding details about the different characters in these stories, are they all real?

 

We are very excited to read what you know and have learnt about the features of a fairy tale.

Please use all your writing skills that you have learnt at school and include these in your work.

 

Friday 8th January 2021

Today we will continue our Geography topic. In our zoom lesson today we will continue our learning about human features and physical features. Today we will look closely at two pictures. One is of the city of London and the other is of the Scottish highlands.

Once we have finished our lesson, write today's date at the top of the page. A learning objective has already been glued in for you. Today you will be describing the two pictures and identifying their human features and physical features.

 

Remember the targets we have been working on in school:

  •  write in full sentences with a capital letter and full stop.
  • use  conjunctions like  and, but, because, so to extend your sentences.
  • include adjectives to add description.
  • presentation: keep your letters sitting on line and joining your letters.
  • group your ideas in paragraphs

 

There are some phonics mats and key words glued into the back of  

 your book to help with spelling.

Thursday 7th January 2021

Today we will continue our Geography topic. In our zoom lesson today we will be learning about human features and physical features. We will look at lots of pictures together to understand what this means so that we can identify these features all around us.

Once we have finished our lesson write today's date at the top of the page. A learning objective has already been glued in for you. In the documents below you will find a sorting activity. Cut the pictures out then sort the pictures into two groups, human features and physical features. Once you have done this write the title Human features then stick those pictures in. Then do the same for physical features.

If you can't print the page out you can write a list of the places under each title.

Once you have done this write a few sentences describing what human features and physical features are. 

E.G. Human features are places and things that people have made. Schools, shops, roads and houses are all types of human features. Physical features are.......
